20.02.2003 | zobrazení 5142
Dear Orienteers: Most Welcome to Join and Follow the 2003 Park World Tour!

Spring Cup first up as a 2003 Park World Tour ranking event
Orienteers to 2003 Tour in Asia through NOC, Pre-WOC, Phone Games and WOC

Three sprints, one medium and one long-distance race will count as ranking events ahead of the 2003 Park World Tour. First up is the Spring Cup in Denmark 29/3. The Nordic Open and World Championships sprints are also among the races which will determine who earns a discount trip to the PWT 2003 series, which will be held in Asia in November.

2003 Tour open to everyone
The 2003 Park World Tour will be organised as a compact series in Asia in early November, starting with qualifications open to every orienteer in the world. The PWT races in Asia may include both A and B finals, with the best B finalists making their way to the A finals in the following race. Prize money will be awarded in each of these races, as well as to the best orienteers overall.

Five ranking events in Europe
With the 2003 series concentrated to Asia, PWT has named five international elite events in Europe where orienteers can earn ranking points and thereby a discount trip to the Tour in November:

1) Spring Cup Classic, long distance - Saturday 29/3, Hillerrd, Denmark http://www.springcup.dk

2) Nordic Open Championships, sprint - Thursday 1/5, Malmkoping, Sweden http://www.noc2003.org

3) Pre WOC Challenge, sprint - Saturday 24/5, Altstatten, Switzerland Info: mario@ammannberneck.ch

4) Forssa Phone Games, medium distance - Thursday 12/6, Urjala, Finland http://www.surffi.net/lhr/kannykka/index.html

5) World Championships, sprint - Tuesday 5/8, Rapperswil, Switzerland http:// www.woc2003.ch

Discount trips to the 15 best
The 15 best women and the 15 best men in the main elite classes or A finals of the above events will be awarded points according to the PWT scoring system (No 1 = 25 points, 2 = 20, 3 = 17, ...15 = 1). Summing up all the points from the five races, the final ranking will determine the price of the trip to Asia for the top orienteers. The top 3 women and top 3 men will receive a special price for the Tour, while positions 4-15 will guarantee a discount price.

Enter by 30 June
If you fail to make the top-15 in the ranking list, this will not prevent anyone from joining the Tour itself. The Park World Tour 2003 series in Asia will be open to every orienteer in the world, as long as you enter by the deadline of 30 June, 2003.
The points earned in the ranking events will not count in the PWT 2003 classification as all participants in the Tour in November will start from zero.

More details regarding the PWT series in Asia will be published in March.

Závodní období
- dominuje krátkodobá psychická příprava na závody
- kondiční a taktická příprava je úzce specializovaná
- trénink má spíš charakter udržovací, regenerační a kontrolní - proto mají delší závodní období negativní vliv na stav celkové trénovanosti
